The Nature of Mindfulness and Self-Compassion

February 5 - 12, 2028

Dr. Ronald Siegel, Dr. Larry Cammarata, & Linda Cammarata, RYT

Bluff Beach Retreat, Panama

Learn and explore within a friendly and supportive small group setting.

Enjoy warm air and water in February.

Tucked along the wild, golden sweep of Bluff Beach on Isla Colón, Bluff Beach Retreatis an oceanfront sanctuary in the Bocas del Toro archipelago—that lush scatter of islands where the Panamanian rainforest tumbles down to meet the warm, turquoise waters of the Caribbean. Here, miles of secluded, brown-sugar sand unfurl beneath swaying palms, and the surf keeps a steady, hypnotic rhythm just beyond your door. It is a place where the jungle and the sea are near neighbors: sloths drowse in the canopy, tropical birds call through the morning air, and vivid wildlife moves quietly through the surrounding greenery. Framed by tropical vegetation and open Caribbean sky, the retreat offers a rare kind of seclusion—untouched, unhurried, and deeply alive—inviting you to slow down, breathe in the salt air, and let the natural beauty of this island paradise restore you.

Learning from Non-Ordinary States: Mindfulness, Compassion, & Psychedelic-Assisted Psychotherapy with Dr. Ron Siegel

This program is educational in nature and does not involve the administration of psychedelic medicine.

In this interactive workshop, you’ll learn practical tools and techniques derived from mindfulness and compassion-oriented treatment and psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy to help clients with a wide-array of disorders. We’ll explore ways to help clients integrate split-off traumatic memories, open their hearts, embrace vulnerability, surrender to the flow of ever-changing experience, move from isolation to deep connection with people and nature, appreciate the unreliable fluidity of thought, and find meaning in everyday moments. You’ll learn how to use mindfulness and self-compassion practices along with other techniques to harness these healing mechanisms, while also gaining the knowledge necessary to help clients who might be experimenting with psychedelics to integrate and grow from their experiences.

Mindfulness, Psychological Flexibility, and the Art of Improvisation with Dr. Larry Cammarata

Life rarely goes according to plan. This program explores how mindfulness, psychological flexibility, and the art of improvisation help us meet the unscripted moments—in our work, our relationships, and ourselves—with presence and creativity.

Through practices like present-moment awareness, acceptance, embodiment, and mindful movement—woven together with the improviser's essential art of "Yes, And"—you'll discover how creativity, empathy, and compassion deepen our connections with others. These are living skills, as meaningful in professional life as they are in relationships, conversations, and the unscripted moments of every day.

Grounded in evidence and enriched by the rainforests and Caribbean shores of Panama, this is an invitation to practice presence, embrace the unexpected, and rediscover the creativity at the heart of healing and connection.
